HOUSE OF HOLLOW | KRYSTAL SUTHERLAND

 White waxy petals and death...

You are like the death flowers that grow rampant in your wake: lovely to look at, intoxicating even, but get too close and you will soon learn that there is something rank beneath.

Rating: 5/5

𝑯𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒇 π‘―π’π’π’π’π’˜ can be either one of the best books you've read or one of the worst ones. Thank God for me it ended up being an absolute beauty! First of all, the cover is AMAZING and yes, I bought it because of the cover (pls don't judge me XD). But now after reading it, I'm mesmerized. The plot is one hell of something so rare and unique.

Grey, Vivi and Iris, The Hollow Sisters, vanished into thin air without any trace when they were little. They came back, but with no memories, a clean slate. So clearly their lives are everything but normal. An invisible aura hovers around them, waiting to call them in its own charm, a call that can't be ignored, however hard they try.

They did ignore, for how long they could, but when the eldest Hollow, Grey went missing...again, Iris and Vivi realized the only way to get their sister back was to return in the mysterious world of what they had no memories at all.

What happened to them when they were children? How did they go missing? How did they even come back? Will Grey be saved?

Oddly beautiful. Creepily wonderful. Hauntingly soulful. What more can I say? It took my breath away and then filled my lungs with satisfaction, awe and wonder. The spooky fantasy world that Sutherland created is captivating. I was DEVOURING this book, getting lost in its own world and charm. The show-casing of a brilliant sisterhood, the trauma that parents go through after losing their children is powerful but not for a moment it overshadows the main plot.

The story unfurls itself like a butterfly breaking of off its cocoon-slowly spreading its curled wings and all of a sudden fluttering open. It truly does leave 'bread-crumbs' here and there and at the end all fits together like puzzle pieces and reveals a full scene.

An ideal book for Fantasy lovers. But in general, yes, I recommend this book. If you enjoy reading something odd other-worldly, it is for you.
