AND THEN THERE WERE NONE | AGATHA CHRISTIE
TEN Strangers, all under ONE Roof!
There was something magical about an island-the mere word suggested fantasy. You lost touch with the world-an island was a world of its own. A world, perhaps from which you might never return.
Rating: 5/5
Genre: Murder, mystery, crime, psychological thriller, dark.
WOW!! What an incredible book! I've been wanting to get into Agatha Christie novels for a while but couldn't decide where to start. A little googling and I knew what I want to read first-And Then There Were None, World's most favorite Christie-Mystery!
Ten people get invitation from a U. N. Owen to Soldier Island, a barren island clouded with numerous speculations regarding its ownership. The invitation, being considerable enough, assembled the Ten Strangers into Soldier Island under one roof without the Host.
But things took a turn when a perilous gramophone record played and the individuals realized that the dark secret each of them guarded all along, is not a secret anymore.
The same night, one of the Ten died, in front of all. Little did they realize that this was not the end of their dreadful visit-They have come to an island where there is no exit.
Observation and comprehension resulted in the presence of none except the ten of them, practically nine now. Does it mean that U. N. Owen is one of.....
If yes, then who is this mysterious Owen to lure ten strangers, who never knew each other? What business does the fellow want with them? What are secrets of the strangers?
And Then There Were None is one of the finest masterpiece one will ever encounter. The plot is dark, mind-twisting. The dots are connected so beautifully that it succeeds to quench the reader's thirst for a marvelous climax. Moreover, this books won't allow you to stop turning pages, not for a split of second!
Highly recommended if you want a short but crisp, mysterious read.
